Tee Box Selection Policy - Revision October 1, 2025
Silverbell Golf Club Members,
As you know, last January the Board changed the tee box policy for club play. At the time the Board said it would review the policy and make changes if they were in the best interest of the club. After reviewing input from members the Board has decided to make another change in the tee box policy.
The new policy will let any member play from whatever tee box they choose with a few limitations. There will be no age or handicap limitations. The Board has decided that in fairness to the women members that male members will not be able to play from the red (forward) tees. The men can, however, play from the forward combo tees that may include the red tees. Also some of the City courses have 7 tee box combinations but our golf program only handles 5 tee boxes.
Butch will be posting the tee box choices on the website. He will also post a form that each member must fill out declaring which tee box they will be playing from. The policy will go into effect on October 1 2025. Any member that does not fill out the form will be assigned the tee box they are currently playing from. Members will be playing from those tee boxes for the rest of the year. Starting at the first of the year a member will again choose which tee box they wish to play from. They will be playing from that tee box for the remainder of the year.
The Board feels that this policy best meets the desires of the members within the volunteer and software limitations of the club.
Tee Box Selection for 2026
Please use the form at the link below to make your tee box selection for 2026. Your selection will become effective on the first round played in 2026 after your selection and remain in place for the 2026 calendar year. The selection period for 2026 will close on January 31, 2026. After that date if you have not make a selection, your default tee box for SGC club play will be the tees you are currently playing.

Form instructions:
- Enter your name and date in the form
- Review the chart on the form and determine which tee box group you want to select
- Select the tee box group on the form and "Submit".
- Click this link to load selection form
Important Notes:
- Your tee box selection will be used to update your member profile in TMS.
- Your Course Handicap (CH) will be adjusted based on your member profile and the course being played. This is done automatically in TMS.
- It is the member's responsibility to play from the correct tee box. Playing from an incorrect tee box may result in disqualification.
